Root Cause Integrative Services:

One-on-one

I was really frustrated a couple of years ago. Seemingly doing everything ‘right’ and still having hormone and gut issues that were affecting my daily life. It wasn’t until I dug a little deeper and took time to heal the root issue that I truly felt that level of health that I’d been looking to achieve. To show up fully every day- with energy and clarity of mind.

I’ve never wanted to stop at putting a bandaid on any situation. It’s not effective nor long-lasting. That strong pull is one of the main reasons I wanted to find another way to help others, rather than just continue to fill their prescriptions as a Pharmacist. And to this day I continue that pursuit.

There are actually several ‘natural bandaids’ or pit stops that would have been easy to stop at, but that same pull came back and so I dug deeper. My training as an Integrative Health Practitioner was exactly what I was looking for to help me go deeper into understanding why symptoms happen and how we can address them.

What is a root cause integrative approach?

Looking at each person as a whole, treating the person, not just the lab results + looking to be efficient and effective (in time, finances, and energy spent)  in the plan.  Our approach includes identifying stressors, toxicities, and deficiencies + addressing detoxification pathways, imbalances, and gut health.

Why do you only do bloodwork and hair test to start off?

This is one I get a lot! The main test people are curious about are the GI map (stool test) and DUTCH test (hormone test).

I think there are many beneficial tests out there, but I choose to base my initial case study on the HTMA (hair test) and a bloodwork panel for a few reasons.

1. You can get so much information from these two tests alone and they are cost-effective.

2. These two tests (along with signs and symptoms) help me pinpoint the root cause of your issues vs just seeing a snapshot of one area of health. For example: to do a hormone test, you would gain more insight into what hormones are off, but not necessarily know why they are off. Same thing with a stool test. My goal is to get to the absolute root of the issue and I’ve seen this method work time and again without more expensive testing.

What are the main differences in the 2 options?

Overview of the two options!

Basic:

-no call with me, only screen share of my findings.

-smaller bloodwork panel ( 8 markers vs 60+)

-looking at only diet, lifestyle, and supplement edits

-focused on strengthening your foundation

Comprehensive:

-60 minute video call + 30-minute phone call included

-larger bloodwork panel (60+)

-looking at many more areas and angles to what might be causing your issues (thyroid, liver, adrenals, kidneys).

-If you have previous tests ( like hormone, stool etc) I will look at those also.

-you will get a protocol document with phases of healing-a bigger, better picture of what your road back to health will look like.

Which option is best for me? I can't decide

This answer would depend on a couple of things:

1. Budget

2. Do you get easily overwhelmed?

3. What type of issues are you having? Any diagnosis yet?

To explain:

I’ll start with #3 and work my way through the above! What type of issues you are having and the previous diagnosis you may have will make a difference. If you already know you have a complex issue like an autoimmune issue, lyme, mold etc- the comprehensive option is definitely the way you want to go.

Keeping in mind how you like to intake information is key also. Do you like to know the full picture and have it all laid out in front of you, or would that overwhelm you? In the Comprehensive package, I look at everything possible that may be going on to give you the best overall picture. In the Basic package, I’ll only be looking at supplements, diet, and lifestyle. While these things are very important and edits in these areas can make a big difference, it’s not as broad a picture as you will get in the Comprehensive option.

Finally, there is your budget. I do have a payment plan for each option, so you can definitely take advantage of that. And sometimes that does have to dictate where you start to a degree, but I want you to consider the above that I”ve mentioned to truly make the best choice and not JUST make it based on your budget:)

I know you’ve tried so many other things in the past, how is this different?

A super in-depth look into where you are, what has worked/ hasn’t worked, and what your biggest pain points are right now that we can work on first.  We will look at things like diet(what you eat and when) exercise, supplements, sleep/wake times, and stressors (lifestyle/physical/emotional).

An initial plan that is doable, yet impactful. As we wait on hair and blood work to come in we will be able to get started and then tweak the initial plan. I’m going to meet you where you are and we will get started right away.

Create a personalized roadmap to address symptoms from an upstream perspective for long-lasting results that allow the body to work as it was intended.

Along the way I help you to understand the why and how vs just telling you to do this/ don’t do that.

The goal is to limit or eliminate sensitivities- so you can have food freedom vs feeling like you must  100% stick to certain foods to feel good.  Expanding diet and eating food that has previously been labeled bad or that you are sensitive to currently is the plan.

No more guessing. No fitting into a box. No restrictive diets. No more jumping from protocol to protocol. It has been a long cycle of products, protocols, diets, etc. and it’s time to close the loop for good.

Which other functional labs are available to add on?

(see above in FAQ why I don’t include these in my initial packages)

Dutch Complete Hormone Test

The Dutch Hormone test is a comprehensive assessment of sex and adrenal hormones and their metabolites. This test is easy to complete, using 4-5 dried urine samples over a 24 hour period.  This method gives us the most accurate picture of stress and hormone levels!

Organic Acids Test (OAT)

This test provides an accurate metabolic snapshot of what is going on in the body. Besides offering the most complete and accurate evaluation of intestinal yeast, mold and bacteria, it also provides information on important neurotransmitters, nutritional markers, glutathione status, oxalate metabolism, and much more. The test includes 76 urinary metabolite markers that can be very useful for discovering underlying causes of chronic illness.

GI Microbial Assay Plus (GI-MAP)

The GI Map is a DNA-based stool test that provides a detailed analysis of the gastrointestinal microbiome using a stool sample. It provides a closer look at the gut- normal bacteria, pathogenic bacteria, parasites, fungi, h.pylori, viruses, intestinal health markers.  This particular test gives you a complete picture of your GI microbiome in a unique way!
